Love Lives Within

I stood alone, lonely,
While the crowd thronged around,
the wheels of life turning in a frenzy,
I could only watch spellbound

In the midst of the chaos,
A silence deafening inside me,
Nary a soul to feel my thought,
I was but just another, to see

The wheels of life turn strange,
Magic it plays from the wheels wrought,
All one needs I had the range,
And yet not the magic I sought

Working hard to find my place,
Trying to keep to the rhythm of the wheel,
I could find yet no solace,
No matter how myself I would kill

I ran from one to another,
Bowl in hand stretched out at will,
Sailing life without a rudder,
Seeking to see the emptiness fill

A sailor was I, not without a penny,
It is the without that all do see,
What's within was mine not for many,
A hope that one day the within would free

Hope is what keeps the life-flow,
I did play the game for the world to see,
Played it well, they cherished my know,
Held on somehow till it was time to be!

I carry a treasure deep in me,
A treasure I cherished as cherished can be,
Took me a while to realize and see,
That all I sought was always in me!

My solace was within, not far and wide,
Till no more could take my weary eyes,
All I had to do was look inside,
And therein she lived, my paradise!

This is the story of this man, one more,
Loved by some, shunned by the fore,
A life ordinaire, not worthy of lore,
And yet I stand fulfilled to the core!
